The Dysart Golf Club in Queensland is on the brink of transformation, thanks to winning a significant grant from the Queensland Government’s Resources Community Infrastructure Fund.

Win With Words Senior Writer Nicole Wren was thrilled to be a part of the project as the club’s appointed grant writer.

The club applied for and won almost $1.4 million in funds. The funds will be used to revitalise the clubhouse, inclusive of a new kitchen, playground, and indoor playroom, catering to the needs of families in Dysart. It will also fund a fully integrated irrigation system for the golf course. There are also plans to develop a mini golf course and install an indoor golf simulator to embrace all the elements of golf that are growing in popularity around the country.

Dysart Golf Club’s Rhiannon Rowe said this about working with a grant writer: “We got a grant writer on board with us. I focused on the project plan side of things and she focused on the application side and we just bounced off each other and it probably was over a hundred hours of work between us.”

A lot of work – yes! But well-worth it for the club and the impact on the local community.
